IPEC Alba Iulia is working on a world premiere: unique 10-color cup printing technology
Porcelain manufacturer IPEC from Alba Iulia is working on a unique 10-color cup printing technology – an absolute novelty at a global level. The project was announced by Cristian Covaciu, co-founder and shareholder of IPEC Alba Iulia, at Termene Business Hub.
The Elena Covaciu Porcelain Enterprise (IPEC) was founded by the Covaciu family at the end of 1990, gradually transforming from a local business into a leading European player.
Today, the Alba Iulia factory operates with over 500 employees and around 350 industrial robots.
A world premiere: 10-color cup printing
According to Cristian Covaciu, IPEC Alba Iulia is working on a project that could redefine the standards of the ceramic industry at a global level.
The company is developing a new technology for printing cups in 10 colors – a world premiere.
At the same time, the company is investing in energy production and storage. This is a natural step for a factory with intensive consumption, but also a strategic decision in the context of the volatility of energy prices in recent years.
In the medium term, IPEC is also considering a cup factory, as well as production capacities for other ceramic objects. For now, however, these plans remain suspended: Cristian Covaciu is not convinced that Romania still offers competitive conditions for investments on this scale.
